Training Programme 2016-17

SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME CONDUCTED IN THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2016-17

The Directorate of Fisheries had conducted 10 nos. of Short Term Training Programme (3days) at Fishermen Training Centre of this Directorate at Ela Dhauji Old Goa in the financial year 2016-17. Financial assistance for conducting short term training programme was provided by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB).

The main purpose of the training was to uplift the skill of the enthusiastic youth who were eager to take fishery for self-employment and enabling them to profitably manage their respective business and improve their livelihood.

The topics covered in the training programme were Safety Equipment’s onboard fishing vessel, Fresh water Fish culture, Ornamental Fisheries, Seafood Value added fish product preparation, Reservoir Cage culture, Oyster farming, Open Sea Cage culture, Mussel farming & Recent Advances in Shrimp farming.

The lectures were delivered by the officials of the Department, Experts from ICAR, NIO & Goa University. In each training programme 20 nos. of the trainees attended the programme from the different places of Goa. A total of 200 nos. of trainees attended the training programme in the financial year 2016-17.

A total of 10 training programme were concluded successfully in the financial year 2016-17.
